Apparently there is a market for excessively over-priced American guitars in Germany

Hasn't sold yet and I am pretty sure it will not sell for that price. Too many parts were changed even tough they have the original parts in the case, but missing the original tremolo block.
Says it came from the original owner and its not a refin. That price maybe ok for a 100% original custom color Strat, but with missing tremolo block and all these changed parts no way.

At 36K pounds I think the seller is living in hope rather than reality.

It's extra expensive because it's not just a Strat...It's a Stratocaster Stratocaster! Bwahaha!

I have come to the conclusion that people (selling guitars & guitar parts) in Germany and Japan think that Americans are either:

    A: rich beyond imagination
    B: really really stupid...

I have seen left handed pickguards from Germany for like $500 or so that is supposedly from the 70's among other items.....and new left handed guitars from Japan that sell here for $700 priced at $1500.....at least they amuse me.....:D:D

That's about half of what I paid for my house. My house is a bit more important for me and the family.

How did you come to the conclusion they want to sell these parts/guitars to Americans?
There is a big market in Japan on vintage guitars or on US guitars in general. Japan is a huge market for the Fender CS. Prices on American products are much higher compared to what they cost in the US. Same for Germany.

BTW, this Eddie Vegas guy and his vintage or CS parts are not a deal either and he serves mostly the US market.

I like the big fat juicy ceramic bridge pickup. Talk about vintage-correct replacement parts :D

It's my understanding they price for their local market, not for the US market. If that market is in fact there for them, great.

I thought the same. Weird assumption, especially as the description is in German...

A seller couldn't care less whether the buyer is American, Austrian or Armenian as long as they pay what's being asked.

If they have them for sale in the US on the US Ebay web site.....and offer shipping to the US....I would guess that they want to sell their wares to people in the US.....catch my drift.....:):)

Please don't get me wrong.....there are just as many greedy people here in the states...

But, like I stated above....they are for sale on the US ebay site with shipping to the US....

If they sell them at these outrageous prices.....good on them.....they found their fish.....

Here are 2 that popped up this morning....

I just read my initial post and I erred in not mentioning that I was referencing items being sold on the US ebay site....I posted a couple of examples in my response above....and these 2 sales aren't that outrageous.....

    My bad.....
