...no matter what guitar you play on?

For me it's kinda the same trying to write tunes in different styles. :D

I know exactly what you mean. Every time I try and write something in a different style it ends up sounding like every thing else I write.

Since I have done a lot of different stuff I can kinda fake most anything, I just find that my arranging and stuff is very similar regardless of what I try to do... :D not to mention the way I approach progressions.

Of course it sounds like you.

You can listen to Peter & Gordon singing World Without Love and know it was written by Paul McCartney.

I know what you mean, but ive grown to be comfortable in my skin as a blues guitarist and not much else. Though that is why ive always been a big Jeff Beck fan yes its still Jeff but every album down the years is always different.

Well, seriously, I am beyond thrilled that I can immerse myself in a style and then kinda sorta half ass write stuff that is still me but recognizably part of the sub genre I am aiming at. Suspect writing is going to go fast for this project.

What’s made my career in commercial music fun is being asked to write in a specific style that I’d never try on my own. And my clients didn’t know it all sounded like me. But I do.

It’s the cool thing about playing guitar. After a while you find your own voice. And tone is in your fingers. It’s pretty amazing-no two guitarists will ever sound the same.

I know what you mean, but I also know that travel can change the you that comes out of you. The week I spent in NOLA resulted in some tone, rhythm, and vibe that would otherwise never have come out of me. My week of nights sipping and listening in those old UK pubs informed me in both lyric and cadence too. I stilll sound like me, and it may only happen in what seems like geological time, but sonic evolution is real.

Yeah course I heard pretty much everything hes done from the yardbirds onwards. I was lucky my dad plays as well and had the blow by blow album , wired , and truth and both the first yard birds albums when I was growing up been a life long fan ever since seen him live a couple of times . Might be a big statement but I reckon hes the best guitarist in the world all round.
