Man, the way I see it is this. The white or parchment, or even mint green, is basically the traditional Sunburst look. It just works and is the most aesthetically pleasing.

When you put on the black, it's like your guitar is switching over to the bad side of the WWF and becoming a heel.

I think it's time for my guitar to become a heel for a while.

There's a spray that Rustoleum puts out, it's sort of a candy apple sparkle, but you look at it at one angle it's deep green, another angle, it's deep blue, another angle it's deep purple. You could also paint the knobs and pickup covers.

The outlaw black look really pops when the burst is more on the amber side I think. It’s killer

One thing I am learning though is that when it comes to the black pickguard, I prefer the black pickup covers and knobs. It completes the WWF Heel look. The cream pickups still have one foot in the Buddy Holly door.

I have mint green on black, white, lake placid blue and Inca silver. I would also use mint green on sunburst, sonic blue and fiesta red.

Okay I just had the craziest idea. I went online and not one single person has tried this anywhere. Maybe there's a reason for that... Or maybe I'm a genius.

I sat my Sunburst Stratocaster against my surf green supersonic today, and I realized that in some strange way the colours looked really hot together.

So why not a surf green pickguard on a two-tone Sunburst with cream knobs and covers?

My 92 Tele, I dropped it two days after I bought it back then.

The sides were shattered. Had them sanded down and I took it back to the store and had them put on a mint green pickguard, and instantly it looked vintage (and this was before relics)

I know not a Strat, but just showing how great mint green looks with Sunburst. After 30 years the truss rod won't turn anymore, so having a roasted maple neck put on and some diff pickups put in. This is it being worked on
