One of the very reason's I love Crappie. I can't stand that fishy taste and these taste better than chicken.

I use Crappie jigs. Black/white sparkle tubes and red/white tubes. Live bait is against the law here.

Actually the water out on Brownlee is really low and terrible for kayaks. It is coming up every day now but we have been fishing up at Lake Owyhee.
I purchase a Oregon non-residence every year because the camping and reservoir access is so much better on the Brownlee Oregon side.
I've never fished Owyhee before this year and I really like it.

The biggest reason is the risk of fish being introduced into Idaho waters that don't belong.
I don't see where it is a problem as long as you catch bait fish from the water you are fishing in but still against the law.
I fish both in Idaho and Oregon and not sure about the law in Oregon allowing live bait but I believe its pretty much the same.
The Snake River and Brownlee Reservoir splits Oregon and Idaho so I buy both license each year.

Where did you catch them at? My brother and my friends used to catch them in the Sandusky River when were kids.

When I was a kid, my father would take me fishing in the cranberry bogs on the Cape. Some of the crappie would be almost as big as some of the bass in the bigger ponds!

Never fished that pond, only waterskied in it. I have fly fished the ditch below the dam though.

    Mine a pretty silent
It’s the same here, live bait, as in fish, is not allowed in a lot of places
