Of the 4 mentioned, and if FREE, Suhr. But it is not the best $ value. I would stay with Fender for my purposes. I have 3 Fender Strats and a Tele that get me by just fine.
Lots of good options out there - G&Ls, EBMMs (the Cutlass is killer Strat-type, and I've had a few Silhouette Specials and Albert Lees over the years). Even the Ibanez AZ Prestige (MIJ) series could fill the bill - they're dropping a new model for 2021 that definitely had the American Utlra HSS in it's sights - the AZ2204N: AZ specs have included locking tuners, Gotoh trems, roasted maple necks, and Duncan pickups; this model adds a compound radius fingerboard (and rosewood at that; all the other AZs are maple board), different Duncan pickups (supposedly more vintage than the other models), and a big change to a decked tremolo instead of one that floats with a rout under it (like you would find on a Floyd Rose or on an EBMM Petrucci/Majesty model). AZ necks aren't typical Ibanez thin; they're more like a modern C Fender neck.
Suhr Classic S @ US$ 2799 = AU$ 3632. Add taxes , import duty, shipping, and Sellers premium and I can see how the price could reach AU$ 4500-4700.
Yep... Eyes are rolling. My SC450GTP90 is one of the worst guitars I've ever owned, and the worst I've owned in the last 20 years. It's playable, but cosmetically it was worth what I paid for it. It'll likely be donated to a local music school once this c-word mess is over and things get back to normal.
Admin Post I modded the stuffing out of this one. Strap locks, locking tuners, Fender Clapton electronics and Rio Grande pickups. Then I sold it and just recently got it back. It's not going anywhere anytime soon that's for sure.
Sorry for the duplicates; there definitely was some sort of problem with the servers. I wrote, hit the Post button and nothing happened. So I hit the button again. Still nothing. Visited another thread, came back, moved the lines around & tried again. No response. Tried yet again, and the last time appeared to work. But somehow all four attempts now appear in the thread.
Suhr if I ever get the cash for the model I want. In second place a prs silver sky, played one that belong to a friend a couple of weeks ago and can’t stop thinking about it
Cool! Mario does great work. I've spoken with him on the phone a few times. Am in the process of finishing and putting together a Strat style from Guitar Mill. It has a pawlonia body and a solid rosewood neck. Hope to have it done by this spring.
That's a beautiful guitar! It looks a lot like my 56 RI except mine doesn't have the gold plated hardware.
My modern alternative to my vintage orientated Feders is a Blade Texas Special. 22frets, active booster and 12" fretbord are the main features:
