You can travel once to any time, any place, as an observer only.
Where would you go, and why?

I think I'd be on the streets of Paris during the jazz era (late 1920s) trying to see as much live music as possible. Maybe Josephine Baker or Django, or maybe eavesdrop on a conversation of Hemingway or Fitzgerald escaping prohibition in the States.

Depends - if by observer you mean like a sort of disembodied ghost watching events like the narrator in a story then probably I’d go and shadow my grandfather at monte casino...

If I was living through an experience as a participant at a moment in time then maybe in the control room for the moon landings.

What would you say to him Omar? It’s a very nice idea.

I would say nothing. I'd only stare at him. He passed away when I was less than two years old.

I have spent some time searching UK archives for Mr & Mrs Thrup’ny Bit in Lincolnshire in the 1890’s and discovered very little about the Thrup’ny Bit family tree. However, and notwithstanding the aforementioned, it seems possible, if not necessarily probable, that the family name was changed. It’s now 210 years, 3 months, 30 days and 11 hours in the Gregorian calendar, since then and I can only find a somewhat tenuous link to the well known guitar player Rodger Waters.

Mary Royston was the daughter of William Royston and Miriam Blackbourne. Her parents were married on 20 April 1809 in Threekingham, Lincolnshire.

It was interesting to discover grandfather (Robert Gay Roger) and Roger Waters grandmother (Beatrix Louise Roger) were brother and sister.

It would be interesting to learn when your family name was changed from Thrup’ny Bit which would allow further research into your family tree, and your entitlement to any future financial benefit that this evidence might support.

The future of course! About 200 years will do. I’d like to see how people look back on our period. And to see what the future might hold.

And maybe take some investment tips home. That wouldn’t count as insider trading, would it?
