Just plucked this out of a pawn shop for 20 bucks. It's obviously a home-made, hacked guitar. The body top and headstock is covered with copper sheathing, the body has cutouts with screen backing-similar to a resonator.
I bought it cause it was cheap, it's a piece of folk art, AND it may have a vintage FMIC neck. The easy way to make sure would be to remove the neck and look for a date; however, the neck is glued in with what looks Gorilla Glue.
It has a big headstock, and flamey Maple. The fret markers appear to be clay, the truss rod adjustment is at the headstock. Can anyone identify it? By-the-way, it has a nice tone, no electronics. I'm thinking a P90 would be the way to go.

Yes, it is VERY ugly, alien came to my mind as well! I saw it almost a month ago and laughed at it. Then it started to haunt my mind, especially the neck. Does anyone think it's an old one?

You may be onto something. That neck looks a little too nice to be a Squire, allparts,
    etc....

gotta admit the "WTF?" Factor is pretty high on that guitar. :)

But for the price it's worth it just for the neck alone. It'll be interesting to see what kind of neck it really is.

(*and you'll probably get more $$$ for the scrap metal if you uhm,...you know,....scrap it.*)

The copper would be put to a better use as a foil hat...you know, to stop the govt from controlling your thoughts...

I took the neck off "The Alien" yesterday-no date or markings at the heel. Tried to remove the copper on the headstock, it won't budge in spite of the propane torch method. I did go easy so as not to burn the wood. So the neck stays on and a single P90or HB will be installed. I'm having a blast playing this thing from another galaxy!
