What guitarist has had the must influence on your playing style, someone you pull licks and tricks from. Mine would be the usual suspects, Hendrix, Clapton and Page and lately John Mayer.

I don't really have a guitar hero, the closest would probably be Django Reinhardt. Influences? Bert Weedon and Hank Marvin when I was first starting out, then years later Mark Knopfler.

My influences would have to be SRV, early Clapton and Hendrix. Hendrix inspired me to want to play electric guitar at 7 years old.

But my guitar heroes are different. I really admire Steve Vai's passion and work ethic, (and playing), Satriani too. If there was one player I wish I could play like, it would have to be Robben Ford. I love when theory compliments feel.

So many influences that I’ve gotten licks/riffs from (mostly 80’s rock/metal, and of course the blues, and bluesy rock which I love), but guitar hero wise it would have to be Slash.

Thank you for mentioning KWS. Such an underrated talent. He needs more recognition on forums.

Mine was David Gilmour. He was the guy with the awesome sound and great licks that were somewhat in reach for me. As much as I loved SRV's, Satch's, Page's, EVH's etc. playing, I quickly realized that wasn't really in my reach.

Lately, since I've been focusing on "My Own Thing®", my main influence has been my ears and what sounds good to me.

If I could only pick one it's Hendrix.

Hadn’t seen that, thanks for posting - still can’t get used to seeing him without that cherry burst LP. That’s what made me want to learn guitar
