Makes sense, the tempo of walking becomes the sound in their heads. I hope they repeat the experiment with adults, to see if the preference is durable.
My wife's family is tiny. Father in law is the tall one at 5'7"...they love slow ass ballads and stuff, my family is tall, my mom is 5'9" and dad is 6'...I'm 6'5"...I strongly prefer uptempo music.
Well when I go for a walk that does determine the tempo of the music in my head, I think a mother singing or playing an instrument would have a greater "musical" effect.
Hmm…my mom had no legs. I prefer theremin music, bowed saws, and the like. You know the type of music where one note just rolls into the next.
