Neck has no aging, no rust/oxidation on hardware. It looks like just the body was aged.

It's priced at $1150, below what this model normally goes for, and I considered it, however the situation around seams is a big concern.Fender_AV_01.jpgFender_AV_02.jpgFender_AV_03.jpg

If they were so judicious with their relicing on the body, why would they stop and leave the hardware, metal parts, pickguard, and neck un-aged? I’ve never seen an attempt so extreme on one end and so completely absent on all the others.
They describe condition as fair, with extreme checking and separation where body prices are joined. Asking price was very reasonable - $1,150

There’s something going on with this. The pickguard isn’t original and you can see the neck plate screw, some hardware screws and the string thru body ferrules are rusted. The neck screws are really bad and almost looks like the screws started pulling through the damp body at the neck pocket.

Then look at the treble side of the nut. It’s black from moisture. The lack of checking on the neck is odd but it’s also rock hard maple and will expand/contract at a different rate than the body. Also odd stain(orange) on the back of the neck. I doubt this is a relic attempt gone wrong, it just got really wet and then dried, maybe more times than one.

See we agree on something again, things are looking up. Yeah this at $1150 is far from reasonable.

It didn’t survive the flood and is basically worthless in a way. The neck I figured you could sell but with recent pics it looks water damaged at the nut. Then the top of the skunk stripe almost looks sanded(dull) to help flatten out the possible popped up skunk stripe.

Have it stripped, dried and repaired. Then a proper refinish is what’s needed. $300 is a fair price. He’s got it listed for $1600CAD on reverb which is high for the condition.

I meant reasonable compared to a regular AV Tele. Plus seller was willing to accept offers.
