Yes, at least six. Unless there are multiple holes, then six more per hole.

That's definitely insects. I work in the picture framing industry and I have seen this with frames. It doesn't happen very often. I think I have seen it 4 or 5 times in 25 years.

Powderpost beetle larvae can live in wood for years before they become adults and bore their way out.

Perhaps buy then, we can test the theory that they are a specific bug by using genetic testing, and tracking

Looking at exit holes of emerald ash borer, not one of them are a perfect circle like the holes in the photo. Those are more like a drill bit than an exit hole.

So, what are we saying? The Emerald Ash Borer has evolved to the point of using hand tools?
