I been Jonesing for one of these since they came out. I trying wheeling and dealing on one a few weeks ago. We couldn’t come to an agreement so I moved on. This one was new on clearance at right around 30% off. $1,019 seems real good so I jumped on it…

This mahogany body and neck, custombucker pickups. Fancy Jimi paint job!!
Nice case too… C neck but it’s kinda chunky… not a tooth pick… haven’t even plugged it in yet…

I didn’t do much … treated the fingerboard, polished the frets, put my Pro Steel strings on, tweak the action… oh I peeled the plastic off…. This thing resonates different… like you feel it vibing against you … and way at the points you still feel it vibing… like it spreads from the middle or center of the guitar out to the points… strange but I like it.

Never paid much attention to Flying V’s except for Jimi’s and Albert King’s. Never thought of them as a serious instrument… but this guitar seems to have a unique voice. Maybe it’s too early in the honeymoon phase.
Oh it plays so fast and easy… geez it’s fast…Mais Can You Dig It!!! It plays like a shred machine. I hope I can make it sound as good as it looks….

That’s wonderful!

I saw one of those a couple of months ago in a shop in phoenix when I was out there visiting the grandbaby.

It looked incredibly cool. If I didn’t already have a V in my stable, it would have been very tempting.

Enjoy!

You just uncovered the magic of a Flying V.
The voice, the handling and the unique character.
Some say if you use a Les Paul and you sound good change to an SG and you will sound absolutely great.
I say if you are serious use a Flying V.

Life is good,
Robin
